Rep. Jonathan Dever Announces Run for Re-Election to Ohio House
COLUMBUS—State Representative Jonathan Dever (R-Cincinnati) has announced that he is running for a second term as State Representative for Ohio’s 28th House District in 2016.
“I am excited to announce that I will be running for re-election to the Ohio House,” said Dever. “Over the past year I have focused on a broad range of issues that help strengthen our communities, promote job growth, and ensure government transparency. I humbly ask for the constituents of the 28th District for their support and vote next November.”
During his first term in office, Dever has sponsored and supported numerous pieces of legislation to help families and small businesses in Ohio, including cutting income taxes across-the-board by 6.3 percent for all Ohioans. He also sponsored legislation that helps to ease financial strains on individuals with disabilities that was signed into law in July of 2015.
While in office, Dever has been on the forefront of advocating for more funding for public education, especially for the school districts hit hardest by the loss of TPP dollars. In addition, Rep. Dever sponsored a bill to make state government spending more transparent by introducing legislation to establish an online database of state spending through OhioCheckbook.com.
Following Dever’s re-election announcement, he quickly received the endorsement of more than sixty elected officials and the Ohio House Republican caucus and campaign committee. He also received high praise from Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger (R-Clarksville), who applauded his commitment to serving his constituents.
“Representative Dever has been a very valuable addition to our caucus during his first term,” Rosenberger said. “He has served the people of the 28th House District responsively and with great integrity. I am proud to support his re-election bid and look forward to working together in the House to continue moving Ohio in a positive direction.”
A lawyer by trade, Dever is the founder of the Dever Law Firm, located in West Chester where he helps families and businesses survive, expand, and thrive. He is a member of the Ohio, Cincinnati, and Butler County Bar Associations.
